Fusion Project

Fusion is an animated film project enabling parent and child to work collaboratively with puppeteers, Illustrators, Translators and Film-makers to translate and transform stories from their home language into animated films. London is enriched by so many different languages. The school communities we work with in Camden and Islington are richly, linguistically diverse; and Bengali, Turkish, Somali and Spanish are languages that contribute to this diversity. Parents in these communities, who may speak little or no English, can often rely on their children to act as translators for the family. This can restrict communication between the school and the home. We want to harness the bilingual skills that many of these children have, by involving them in inter-generational storytelling.
