London Seizure- a two-part screening series and panel discussion, curated by Carmen Billows

Part 1: Urban DISease, at Bermondsey Project, Southwark, 23 May 2013, 6.30 – 9pm
Part 2: Extension of the Zone of Operation, at Arbeit, Hackney Wick, 30 June 2013, 6 – 8.20pm

Contextualised within two institutions in London boroughs strongly affected by regeneration processes, Southwark and Hackney, London Seizure, suggests contributing to a dialogue on London’s contemporary socio-political climate. The artists featured in Part 1: Urban DISease, shared an interest in capturing instances of disruption in everyday social and political life, giving a voice to a sense of discomfort. The artists featured in part 2: Extension of the Zone of Operation, take a special interest in current practice of urban land use and the hidden narratives behind capitalist housing politics.

Part 2 is featuring:

The screening will be followed by a panel discussion with the participating artists. Extension of the Zone of Operation.
